Last month, we were fortunate enough to spend a month in Spain thanks to James Hargest College in Invercargill, who kindly allowed us to join their trip. Our month was divided into a tour of the country, where we visited amazing sites like the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, Camp Nou FCB, Palacio Real in Madrid, and La Alhambra in Granada. This was then followed by a 2 ½ week homestay in which we fully immersed ourselves in the Spanish language and culture by going to school and experiencing life with a Spanish family.
This is one of the many opportunities that learning a language such as Spanish gives you. This was an incredible experience that truly opened our eyes to another world and gave us lifelong friendships and memories. We want to take this time to hopefully inspire some of you to open your minds to consider taking another language, such as we did because the opportunities it gives you are truly endless.
