Last Thursday, our senior students celebrated the end of the Academic Year
with Mass at St Mary’s Church, led by Fr Thomas and assisted by Deacon John.
For the Year 13 students, it was the culmination of their years at John Paul
College. The Mass concluded with the traditional JPC Virtue Candle ceremony.
Each Year 13 student was presented with a candle which had their House
Patron and colour, together with a virtue printed on it.
As a faith community, we know that God has a purpose for each and every one
of you. During your years at our College, you have all learned that our Catholic
social teaching applies the Gospel values such as love, peace, justice,
compassion, service, and community to modern social problems. We pray that you will go from our College safe, knowing that you can make a difference to those around you.
“What we are is God’s gift to us. What we become is our gift to God.”
