The annual Rotomaths competition was held at the Rotorua Girls High School Arena last Tuesday, September 3. This year, we had 6 dedicated teams of year 7’s and 8’s. These students practiced steadily throughout Term 3 during lunchtimes and the results paid off.

The competition was tough, nonetheless, 5 of our 6 teams placed in the top 2 in their respective categories: The winning Year 7 Team was by represented by Lachlan Hogan, Nyla Fulo, Nath Ihita, Ben Breeze. The team of Joseph Carter, Annabelle Hogan, Mickey Wu, and Demi Yang placed 2nd. The third Year 7 team was made up of Anthony Montero, Harrison Roberts-Brake, Luca Finlayson and Ava Tremain.

The Year 8 Team, represented by Aaron Muchirahondo, Mitchell Russell, Robert KC Khatri and Zach Hall, placed 1st , while the other two Year 8 teams composed of Anita Huang, Alannah Nielson, Morgan Maccormick, Ben Clarke and Gargi Vaidya, Lily Kautz, Kasey Hall, Oscar Westra placed 2nd equal.

Congratulations to these students, for their hard work and dedication and well done on another successful year at the Rotomaths. Special thank you to our Year 12 student helpers on the day as well. Ann Wang and Renee Pingol Teachers in charge of Rotomaths
