ESPERANZA JOFRE BIRKE – CHILE

The school is very different to schools in Chile but the people are very friendly and I like the classes I am able to take. My host family is very nice and I feel like one of the family.

MIKU FUKUSHIMA – JAPAN

One of my favorite subjects at was Maori, because I could have a conversation in Maori and understand New Zealand culture more. In the school holiday, I had a brilliant tour and went to South Island. I met a lot of people, it was the highlight for me.

ZIHAO ZHANG – CHINA

The Music Department is a lot of fun. The learning is very different than in China but with the help of the teachers I was proud to come first in Year 12 Physics and Maths. JPC has given me the skills to study later in university and I am still deciding where that will be.

MARGUS CHIU – TAIWAN and SCOTT YI – KOREA

Margus and Scott were both JPC International Prizewinners and are now both studying Health Science at Otago University. In addition, Margus was offered a prestigious $15,000 Canterbury University Scholarship.

JPC students are very friendly and there are lots of activities to be involved in, such as football, basketball and table tennis.  All of the teachers are very encouraging and want to help students achieve their goals.

When I was in high school I decided to study in another country because I wanted a different experience and so I can improve my English. I chose NZ because it is safe and Rotorua is very beautiful place to stay with lots of nature. I’m very happy I chose JPC and Rotorua.
