On Tuesday 15 August, our school whanau celebrated the Feast of the Assumption of Mary with Fr Prakash as the celebrant. Students representing a variety of cultures processed into Mass, honoring Mary as the Mother of us all. Throughout Mary’s life, she showed an openness to God. It was her faith in God, that enabled her to say unconditionally YES, to being the mother of Jesus. She trusted in God and knew that God had a plan for her.
During the Mass, we reflected on Mary’s open acceptance of God’s plan for her and her willingness to serve others.
We prayed for our parish community, in gratitude for our priests, and those who inspire us with their faith and that we will be positive signs of hope, especially to those who most need our help and care.
At the conclusion of Mass, we prayed a decade of the Rosary with students praying in many languages.
