For his contribution to education and service to John Paul College and to the wider community. This is spanning over 30 years.
To Lyall Thurston, our Board Chair, I wish to pay a special tribute. He has had a lifetime association with John Paul College, stretching back to his days as a pupil of Edmund Rice College, followed by nearly 30 years on the Board of Trustees.
Lyall’s length and quality of service as a Trustee is significantly unique in New Zealand. We owe him and his family an enormous debt of gratitude. He has remained steadfastly passionate about the school. His leadership and commitment have contributed significantly to the success of the College.
