In the last week of term 1 the JPC Caritas leaders ran a ‘Move it’ pyjama dance party Caritas Challenge.
In total almost 100 students donated to Caritas and then spent two hours dancing and generally moving to dance challenge youtube videos and a variety of games such as a song battle and a dance battle.
The students had great fun but know that it was for the serious cause of helping Caritas- the Social Justice arm of the Catholic Church- support people across the Pacific who are facing challenges in their daily lives including having to walk great distances to access education and medicine and simple things like clean water. For more information about where the money raised goes visit the Caritas Aotearoa website
For every dollar we raised, the New Zealand Aid Fund matches and so becomes $4. This means we physically raised $426 but it will become $1704!
Thank you to all those who took the time to take part, (and their families), you have put the Catholic Social Justice principles of Preferential Option for the Poor and Solidarity into action.
