Arsha Anish (Year 12) won the recent Race Unity Speech in the Central North Island heats held in Rotorua on Thursday the 27th of March and hosted by the Rotorua Netherlands Society. The theme this year was Te Taura Tangata – The Rope of Unity. Arsha will now participate in the finals weekend to be held in in Auckland 4 and 5 May 2024. Gargi Vaidya (Year 13) who won the national award last year for Advocacy was one of the regional coordinators and MC on the day. The Race Unity Speech Awards are sponsored by such diverse groups as the Bahai Faith, NZ Police, Speech New Zealand, Children’s Commissioner, Human Rights Commission and Multicultural New Zealand.
